"You have to relax!" I say to them as they have their shoulders up to their ears and a death grip on the handle bars. It's not going to help you, it will only make you sore later.

So here is the trick. Remember to relax, and absorb the bumps with your arms loose and your back flexible. If your arms are locked its going to make the bumps seem like mountains! Give yourself a break and just chill. You have to steer, of course, but you don't have to be nervous about it.

Sit forward on the seat so you are closer to the handle bars, try to have your arms at a slightly bent angle at the elbow, and sit up straight, but let your lower back flex to absorb the bumps. This will put your center of gravity right above the machine and make the ride very enjoyable.

If you find yourself tensing up again, just stop for a minute and take a break, you have to be one with the machine. You are telling it where to go, and it takes orders from you. A little tip from the Quad Squad to help beginning riders feel more comfortable! We had about 4 inches of snow to motor through on Saxon Mountain and had a great time. I can't believe how the summer flew by. It has been a colder than usual October but the riding has been wonderful. We just took out a group of 10 on Tuesday. They were regional managers from the Labor Force company and they all had a great time. It was 65 degrees for the tour with incredible Colorado blue skies on the Yankee Hill trail, then 30 minutes after the tour was done the temperature dropped 30 degrees and snow was falling! That is weather in the Rockies for you. Tyler and I went out today for a little joy ride in the 4 inches of new snow and it was a blast! It will all be gone by Saturday. Come check out the Quad Squad if you are in the mood for a great ride in the Rockies!

Its great to be a Gator

So I came from Florida back in 1998, armed with a forestry degree and ready to live out West!
